Triptime AI

In short

  • No account is needed. Your trips, saved places and packing lists stay in your own browser.
  • What you type to plan a trip is sent to our server and AI provider only to create the answer.
  • Shared links store a copy of that plan so others can open it.
  • We use Google Analytics to understand how the site is used. We don't sell your data or use it for advertising.

1. Who we are

Triptime AI ("Triptime", "we", "us") runs the website triptime.ai and is responsible for the processing described here. You can reach us at [email protected].

2. Information stored on your device

Your trips, My Places, Bucket Lists, packing lists, dates and settings are saved in your browser's local storage. We can't see or access this data. You can delete it at any time by removing trips in the app or by clearing your browser's site data for triptime.ai.

3. Information we process

  • Trip requests and chat messages. When you ask for a plan or chat with Mira, your text and the destination are sent to our server and to our AI provider to generate a reply. We don't attach your name or contact details to these requests. Please don't include sensitive personal information in your messages.
  • Location. Only if you allow it in your browser. Your location is used to show where you are on the map or to find places nearby. It is used for that request and is not stored in a profile.
  • Shared plans and lists. When you create a share link for a trip, a packing list or a bucket list, the content of that plan (title, places, dates and notes) is stored on our server so the link keeps working. Anyone with the link can view it. We may feature selected plans in the Trip Gallery.
  • Feedback. If you use the Feedback form, we receive your message, the type you selected, the email address if you give one, and the screenshot if you attach one. We use them to answer you and improve the service.
  • Technical data. Like most websites, our server receives your IP address, browser type and the pages requested. We use this to keep the service running, prevent abuse and limit excessive requests.
  • Usage statistics. We count simple events, such as a plan being created or a link being shared, without identifying you. We also use Google Analytics with IP anonymization to see which pages and features are used; where consent is required, only after you accept.

4. Why we use it (legal basis)

We process information to provide the service you ask for (performance of a contract), to keep the service secure and improve it (legitimate interests), and, where required, on the basis of your consent, which you can withdraw at any time.

5. Service providers

We use trusted providers to run Triptime AI. They receive only the data needed for their task:

  • Groq: AI models that write trip plans and Mira's answers
  • Geoapify: place search, addresses and nearby places
  • HERE: route calculation
  • OpenFreeMap / OpenStreetMap: map tiles and map data
  • Open-Meteo: weather forecasts and climate data
  • Pexels, Pixabay, Wikipedia and Wikimedia: photos and place information
  • Google Analytics: website statistics
  • Cloudflare and our hosting provider: delivering the website securely

Some of these providers process data outside your country, including in the United States and the European Union. Where required, transfers are protected by appropriate safeguards such as standard contractual clauses.

6. Cookies and local storage

We don't use advertising cookies. Google Analytics sets cookies (such as _ga) to tell visits apart. The app uses your browser's local storage to save your trips and settings; this is needed for the app to work. Visitors from the EU, EEA, UK and Switzerland are asked first, and analytics cookies are only set if they accept. You can change your cookie choice at any time. You can also block or delete cookies and site data in your browser settings. The app will keep working, but your saved trips on that browser will be removed if you clear its data.

7. How long we keep data

  • Shared links are kept for as long as the service runs, so they keep working, unless you ask us to remove them.
  • Feedback messages are kept as long as needed to handle them.
  • Server logs and usage events are kept for a limited period for security and statistics.
  • Data in your browser stays until you delete it.

8. Your rights

Depending on where you live, including under the EU and UK GDPR and Türkiye's Personal Data Protection Law (KVKK), you can ask to access, correct or delete your personal data, object to or restrict its processing, and receive a copy of it. To do so, write to [email protected]. You also have the right to complain to your local data protection authority.

9. Children

Triptime AI is not directed at children under 16, and we don't knowingly collect their personal data. If you think a child has sent us personal data, contact us and we will delete it.

10. Security

We use HTTPS and limit access to our servers. No online service can be completely secure, so please don't put sensitive information into trip notes or messages.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as Triptime AI grows. We will change the date at the top and, for important changes, let you know on the site.
